Tonight, I had the pleasure of attending a South Coast Panel Event, chaired by Arup. For me, the topic was one that is always front of mind – Seizing the South’s green potential.Speakers included Mike Harris, Chief Executive of Southampton City Council, Ian Henderson, Head of Property at Associated British Ports and Stuart Baker, BD Director of Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), MD of Maritime UK Solent, Director- The Solent Cluster.It's clear, the southern region is ripe with opportunities to transition to a greener future; it was interesting to hear the panels thoughts on the pace of change, the amount of investment and appetite from both the government and business sides, together with the collaborations needed, to make a positive difference.There are clearly a number of challenges facing the development and construction profession, but it’s great to hear/see that are not alone on the path to a net zero, resilient and equitable future.Thank you, Simon Gill (and team), for the invite and hospitality.#sustainabledevelopment #collaboration #netzero
