In a Minute: Bethany Community Services recognizes student achievements (2024)

HAVERHILL — Bethany Community Services recognized the achievements of Gateway Academy students who completed the BYCARE program with a celebration held on June 10 at the Phoenix Row community.

The BYCARE (Bethany Youth Career Advancement and Readiness for Employment) program, established in partnership with the Gateway Academy and funded with support from the city of Haverhill Youth Activity and Mental Health Grant provides students with paid training, hands-on work experience, and the opportunity for permanent employment.

Jered Stewart, president & CEO of Bethany Community Services, congratulated students on completing the training while working at Bethany in the Wellness or Dining Services departments.

“We were very pleased with this new partnership with the Gateway Academy and to be a part of providing these students an opportunity to gain some valuable real-world experience,” he said. “These students stepped up and took on a challenge to go through an interview process, receive on the job training, and work in a field that provided them with relevant experience. I’m proud of our Bethany team and proud of these students for completing this program.”
